My dad and I were honored to play for the annual Recording Academy Memphis Chapter Membership Party taking place at the Haloran Centre Downtown on June 11th.
It is always a blessing to perform with my dad as he is my grounding place, and sharing this beautiful stage with him brings me true joy.

The band and I are so excited to finally make it out to Northern California this summer. On Sunday, June 2nd, I’ll be performing with Guy Davis at Davis Family Vineyards in Healdsburg, CA. On Thursday, June 6th, I’ll be solo in Santa Cruz (venue TBA). The Lovers quintet join me to perform at Scribe Vineyard in Sonoma on Saturday, June 8th. Then we have a public performance on Sunday, June 9th at the Ashkenaz Music and Dance Community Center. We can’t wait to get to San Francisco area- for our first time ever as a band. Hope to see y’all there!

They worked on new songs during Robin’s visit and Marcella reported back that it was so memorable, inspiring and the first of many more to come. The super talented, new songwriter who we all know and love Louise Page performed with her bad ass band that evening at DKDC as well!

To kick off our Americana Fest week, we began by showing Nashville what we’ve got at the BMI and Yep hosted event as part of their 8 Off 8th series at the Mercy Lounge on Monday. On Wednesday, we hit Tin Roof on Broadway for the Spotlight 615 showcase. Thursday we joined our dear friends and fellow Memphians Cedric Burnside, Talibah Safiya, Faith Evans Ruch and Josh Waddell at the Filming Station for the Pure Memphis Happy Hour Showcase hosted by Music Export Memphis.
We were truly touched by the music community that embraced us in Nashville, and we’d like to give a huge thanks to MaryAnn and Lauren at BMI, Alina at YEP Nashville, Ashley at Spotlight 615, and Elizabeth at Music Export Memphis for including us.

Read MoreA few weeks back, at the invitation of Beale Street Caravan, the Lovers and I were honored to perform with Spooner Oldham.
If you don't know the name Spooner Oldham you definitely know his songs and cohorts: in addition to co-writing, along with Dan Penn, such canonical American hits as "When A Man Loves A Woman", "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man" and "At the Dark End of the Street", Spooner has played keys with everyone from Bob Dylan and Neil Young to Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett.
This once in a lifetime experience was recorded and filmed for Beale Street Caravan's "I Listen to Memphis" video series at Memphis's legendary P&H Cafe, and will be premiering this summer.
The Lovers and I performed two songs with Spooner: "I'm Your Puppet" and "I'd Rather Go Blind".
What an honor it was to perform these American classics alongside one of their architects. The videos shimmer with soul and toffee colored light (courtesy of Christian Walker's excellent production team, and engineer extraordinaire Adam Hill's incredible audio mixes) and we cannot wait to share them with you!
